Some new things you should know about.

Our favorite new old thing at the north store in Andersonville.  1940's classroom handwriting roll down chart.  Super rare.  30" x 40" - $350

Bell Jar full of 900 anagrams, scrabble tiles,  and game pieces.
Not for sale. tee hee hee.

It's a mystery why this amazing bird mobile is still in the store.  20 vintage dye cut American birds silently spinning above people's heads at the front counter.
Guess people don't look up.   $45

Vintage 1988 Russian Periodic Table. Yes, 1988 is vintage.  It's enormous! 36" X 46"
Shrink wrapped and ready to frame for $90.
Buyer receives 15% off any in store custom framing needs.

I made some Men and Women bathroom signs from some cool plastic marquee letters I  had lyin' around.  I mounted them on a cool espresso suede.  They sit on a table or hang on a wall. And if you're really loose, you could stick one outside your door in your apartment building indicating what sex you'd like to enter.  men-$24/ women-$28

One of our new card favorites are these "stamp" note cards.  Comes with a real art stamp sealed in a clear sleeve on the front of the card.  $10 from Johnathan Wright Cards.  You may say, "Wow that's kinda expensive".  When you see them you will understand.  Letter press and very hand made.   Not the kind of thing you'll be seeing at Walgreens anytime soon, which is fine with us.

Made some neighborhood pieces for the locals here in Andersonville.
Made from an old card game and custom framed.
uptown-$45 / aville-$80

Our Favorite Frames

As many of you know, Foursided has a deep appreciation for beautifully hand crafted frames from yesteryear. In this post we bring you an impeccable hand crafted picture frame design made in the present.
These frames could be characterized as "mission", "arts and crafts", "prairie", or "adirondeck". The name "mission" was inspired by Joseph McHugh, a New York furniture maker and retailer, to describe his straight line rustic style furniture. His design was based on a chair that had been made for a church in San Francisco around 1894. The designs were influenced by the Spanish missions of the area, thus the term "mission style". "Arts and Crafts" was the European design name for a similar style. Other "similar" regional styles include "Prairie" from the Midwest and "Adirondeck" from Upstate New York.

We hope you enjoy these frames as much as we do.

KEEP OUT SIGN

We like to have fun with sign making at Foursided. Keeps us creative and all that.

This sign is made from vintage tin marquee letters. We have letters for every kind of sign you can think to make. We'll even do it for you. Oh my gosh! We make stuff, and find time to house giant chickens.

Tin Marquee Letters: $1 to $4 each, available at Foursided in Andersonville

KROWNS AND KODAKS

Couldn't resist these old Kodaks! There's something about old cameras from the 30's and 40's that just love to take up space on the swing set of my mind's playground. I don't care if they work and I'm not a camera aficionado. I obtained these because they were made in a time when assembly lines were a little more romantic and a lot less plastic. Just beautiful in or around your collections, on book shelves and mantels. Oh, and the great little crowns are just the tip of the crown iceberg from Peacock Park.

Cameras: $35 to $45 Each Available at All Stores
Crowns: $18 to $35 Each Available at Twosided and Foursided in Andersonville

Vintage Rings and Necklaces

Spoon Rings Baby! They're back with a vengeance at Twosided and Foursided. They've been back for awhile in case you've been living on Mars. Also in are vintage jewelry made from old watch parts. Eh, "It's been done," you might say. We'd say it too. But these pieces are one-offs of wonder, brought to you from San Francisco where we found the artists selling these. See how far we go to find you cool stuff? Hmm? Huh? Hmm? Huh?

Nothing renews an old object like dipping it in a vat of shiny silver paint. Try it with your vintage kitchen blender...and VoilĂ ! ART!
